Strategic Thinking

I generally find that there are two types of businesses:

1) Those that don’t have any type of a plan and just react to what is right in front of them at the time.  They have no real direction for where they are going.

2) Those who have a plan but the day to day activities of the principle and employees have no resemblance to what is called for in the plan.

Both carry a high degree of probability for failure.

Can you relate?

How is what you are doing going to help you succeed in today’s economy

Having and executing a strategic plan is the only way you can create and ensure your success.  Do you want a way to test the effectiveness of your plan?  Click here

Two things must be addressed for an organization to operate at it’s fullest potential.

  1. You need to have a strategic plan which identifies business opportunities, organizational resources, and objectives.
  2. You need to develop your people (or yourself) to have the necessary leadership, management, and sales skills to be able to carry out the plan.

Without addressing both, be assured that you are leaving money on the table!

Strategic thinking and planning is not discretionary.  Many businesses have a plan that is written to help them get a bank loan.  It does not however give them the direction of what needs to be done this quarter, this month, this week, today.

The strategic thinking and planning process allows you to:

  • Develop specific strategies to be more effective and more profitable
  • Convert those strategies into day to day activities for the results you want
  • Establish measurable and attainable goals

This process has been proven successful with a variety of companies in size and industry to not only determine where the company wants and needs to go, but also how it is going to get there.

Client achievements include:

  • Strategic focus and vision-driven leadership
  • Corporate values that drive behavior
  • Cohesive, energized teams
  • Improved market share
  • Focused use of resources
  • Innovative market solutions

At the end of this process you will have clearly defined who is going to do what and by when.  Also, you will have a system in place to track, measure, and be accountable.

Everything starts with strategy.  What’s yours?
